Free to use. Runs in your phone's browser, so there is nothing to download from a store.

Every driver carries the LarkRide badge. It means we trust them, and you can too.

Pick a driver
How it works

Three steps, your price

  1. 1

    Say where you're going

Set your pickup on the map and choose your destination. Your position comes from your phone.

  2. 2

    Name your fare

We show a recommended fare for the distance. Start there and adjust it. A fair-fare floor keeps every offer above fuel and running costs.

  3. 3

    Ride and pay in cash

Pick the driver you like and look for the badge. Watch them arrive on the map, message or call inside the app for free, and pay cash at the end.

Rides

A ride for every need

  • Everyday

    Rides around town

Standard trips at a price you and the driver agree on. Want extra peace of mind? Ask for badge drivers only.

  • School runs

    Badge drivers, with extra checks

Only drivers who hold the LarkRide badge and have passed our school-run checks can take a school run. You see the driver, their car and number plate before pickup, and you can report any concern in a tap.

  • Courier

    Send a parcel

You pay the driver in cash when they collect it. There is a photo at pickup and one at delivery, so you can see it arrived.

The LarkRide badge

The badge means trust

Every LarkRide driver starts with it. They keep it by being on time, treating people well, sticking to the agreed fare and looking after what they carry.

  • Riders and parents see the badge next to every offer and on the trip.
  • School runs always need the badge, plus our school-run checks.
  • Parcels go to badge drivers unless the sender chooses otherwise.
  • If a report checks out, the badge comes off. Riders can see it is gone, and the jobs go with it.
  • Fair to drivers. We always give the reason, and a driver can appeal.
Reports

If something goes wrong, tell us

Riders, parents, senders and drivers can all report a problem from the trip screen in a few taps. Nothing gets lost.

  1. 1

    Pick what happened

Choose the closest match: unsafe driving, threats, rudeness, being asked for more money, a car that doesn't match the app, a problem with a parcel, something left behind, or something else.

  2. 2

    A person reads it

Every report is read by a person. Urgent ones, like threats, unsafe driving or a car that doesn't match, go to the front of the queue. You can follow its status in the app.

  3. 3

    You hear what we did

We tell you the outcome. A driver whose badge is removed is told why and can appeal. A passenger who breaks the rules can be paused. Reports made in bad faith are tracked too.

For drivers

94%

Keep 94% of every fare

One flat 6% platform fee on every completed trip. Nothing else is taken. Many ride apps keep around a fifth.

We usually review applications within a day, and many drivers are on the road the same day.

  • Good drivers earn more

We built LarkRide around a community of drivers people trust. Keep the badge and you keep your jobs, and you keep 94% of every fare.

  • You name your price

See the passenger's offer and accept it, or reply with your own.

  • A fair-fare floor

Offers can't drop below the cost of fuel and wear on your car.

  • Cash in your hand

Passengers pay you directly. The 6% fee is taken from a small prepaid balance in the app.

  • Checked before you drive

Add your car details, photo, ID, licence, registration certificate and car photos. We review them before you can take rides.

  • Treated fairly

If a report is made about you, you hear what it was and what we decided. The badge is only taken away for a reason we tell you, and you can appeal.

Safety and trust

Know who is coming

See your driver, their car, their badge and their number plate before you ride, and follow the trip live on the map.

  • The LarkRide badge. Every driver starts with it and loses it if a report checks out.
  • Share your ride. Send trip details to someone you trust in one tap.
  • SOS button. Always on the trip screen for riders and drivers.
  • Message and call inside the app. Free, and your phone number is never shared.
  • School runs only with badge drivers who have passed our school-run checks.
  • Parcels travel with photos at both ends, so you can see they arrived.
  • Reviewed drivers. Documents are checked before anyone takes a ride.
  • Report a problem in a few taps. We read every report and tell you what we did.

Questions

Good to know

How do I pay?

In cash, directly to the driver at the end of the trip. There are no cards to add and no tips to think about. For a parcel, the sender pays the driver in cash when the driver collects it.

How does naming my fare work?

You see a recommended fare for your distance. Offer that or adjust it, and nearby drivers can accept or reply with their own price. You choose the reply you like. A fair-fare floor keeps every offer above fuel and running costs.

What does LarkRide charge?

Riders pay only the fare they agree with the driver. Drivers pay a flat 6% platform fee on each completed ride, taken from a prepaid balance in the app.

What is the LarkRide badge?

It is our mark of trust. Every driver starts with it and keeps it by treating people well. You can see it next to every offer and on your trip, and you can ask for badge drivers only. School runs always need it. If a report about a driver checks out, we take the badge away, tell the driver why, and let them appeal.

What if something goes wrong on a trip?

Tap Report a problem on the trip screen, or on the trip afterwards in Activity, and pick what happened. Every report is read by a person, urgent ones first. You can follow its status in the app and we tell you what we did. In an emergency, use the SOS button or call your local emergency number first.

How do school runs stay safe?

Only drivers who hold the LarkRide badge and have passed our school-run checks can take a school run. The parent sees the driver's name, car and number plate before pickup, and can report any concern straight away.

How do parcels work?

You pay the driver in cash when they collect the parcel. The driver completes the delivery once the parcel is in the recipient's hands. Both of you can see a photo of the parcel at pickup and at delivery. LarkRide doesn't insure parcels. If a parcel can't be delivered, the driver brings it back and no fare is due.

How do I become a driver?

Open the app, switch to Driver, and add your car details plus five documents: your photo, ID, licence, vehicle registration certificate and car photos. We usually review them within a day, and many drivers are on the road the same day.

Do I need to give my phone number?

No. Your email address is your account. Messages and calls happen inside the app, so you and the other person never see each other's phone numbers.

Do messages and calls cost anything?

Messages and voice calls inside the app are free. They use your mobile data or Wi-Fi, not airtime.

Do I need to install anything from a store?

No. LarkRide runs in your phone's browser and can be added to your Home Screen so it opens like any other app.

Who can see my location?

Riders share their pickup point when they ask for a ride. Drivers share their live position only while they are online or on a trip.
